Renvy
Hello, I recently found out about this phone: http://android-sale....xiaomi-mi2.html (note: I found out not all the info on this website about the phone is right) Some of the best things about it: -4.3 inch screen with 1280 x 720 screen resolutions. -1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processors -8.0 megapixel Camera -2000mAh Battery -2GB DDR3 RAM -memory slot It's seems like the specs are killer for the price. ($399 or 330EUR) I was thinking of buying it but I'm unfamiliar with the brand and a little concerned because of the good specs for the cheap price. Does anyone have any experience with Xiaomi? Thanks in advance!

jamesclarke555
This is the phone I'm looking at upgrading to, it launches in October (China only) but I hear they will ship it worldwide from next year. I can tell you that Xiaomi are the company behing the popular MIUI rom (which is awesome btw). The build quality of their phones is really good, especially considering the price. I would have a look on YouTube for reviews of the MI-One to get a better idea ;)
ichi
Their previous phone got nice scores on reviews. The problem is that it was sold only in China, and since it uses a custom ROM (MIUI) localization on languages other than Chinese was either poor or non existent. Also if you had any problem with the device you'd have to send it back to China :/ If this new phone launches internationally it'll be really worth considering. Renvy
Thank you for the replies. http://android-sale.com sells it internationally so I hope to get one. Can't find it on dealextreme (wich is more trustworthy then android sales). Anyone knows whether this phone is rootable? benchmarking says it's better than galaxy S3 http://www.miui.ch/xiaomi-mi2-vs-sgs3-vs-htc-one-x-vs-meizu-mx/ also interesting is you can buy an aditional 3000 mAh battery for it. Also if you had any problem with the device you'd have to send it back to China :/ Yes that's true, it's the only downside. Their language seems to be improved: http://www.miui.ch/miui-rom/ (MIUI is indeed beautiful) and you can get a language pack.
Arachno 1D
Anyone knows whether this phone is rootable? The selection of reviews I perused were as usually happens, based on press releases so untill the device hits the market for real its merely guesswork. +InsaneNutter MVC Posted August 29, 2012 MVC Share Posted August 29, 2012 The MI2 looks pretty awesome I must admit. I used the Miui rom on my HTC Desire for over a year and found it to be much better than stock Android 2.3, or any HTC Sense based roms. Since getting my Galaxy Nexus ive not used it however, from what ive read it appears to have a lot of performance problems and bugs on the Nexus. If i was looking for a new phone i would be very interested in the MI2. Might actually check it out on my Nexus soon as i do miss the rom.
Renvy
I sure hope the build quality of the second one equals the first one : (box test) (car test)
Arachno 1D
Well the first video is the strength of the box not the mobile.
