Clock screensaver

Recommended Posts

I've used it for a while but got rid of it because it doesn't do much actual screen saving.

In case you missed it: You can add a clock to any screen saver in OS X by going to System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > check "Show with clock" box. The time box jumps around the screen so it doesn't cause any burn-in.

This is a much nicer clock screensaver than Apple's option to add a clock. It's far better presented, however the fact that the "AM / PM" stays in one place probably is a bad move for something designed to prevent image persistance

Hi,

I think this is a screensaver, not sure but does anyone know what this clock is on mac or if I can get something similar as a screensaver?

I know this isn't even slightly what you were asking for, but I have this clock as my screensaver: Polar Clock.

EDIT: In fact, there's a list of 25 screensavers you can choose from here, including Polar Clock and one that looks similar to the one you were asking after.

Why should it, LCDs don't get screen burn. Screensavers are merely decorative now, their original purpose is long obsolete. :)

Thanks, does it work with Mountain Lion because its not a registered developer as gatekeeper blocked it and it was last updated in 2011

EDIT: won't work says please get a newer version of screensaver :'(

You can tell mountain lion to allow strange developers

Yes the LCDs get burn-in if you leave a still image on the screen too long... no matter what type of monitor or TV you have such as LCD, Plasma, LED, etc.

My old CRT monitor had burn-in lock screen image on the screen. I left Windows 2000 lock screen on for days a time which I was a programmer/pc tech those days.

When I turned my CRT monitor off, I noticed the burnt image on it.

doesn't seem to work on either Mountain Lion (doesn't load) or Snow Leopard (shows a black screen)

Utter, utter nonsense!

The only difference between LCD burn and CRT burn is that if your lucky, I mean really, really lucky, LCD burn can fade

I work in a lot of pubs (DJ, host quizzes, mild alcoholic LOL) and part of that often involves hooking into their LCD / Plasma tv. They ALL seem to have major burn-in from things such as the MTV logo, the area Sky Sports News dedicates to the ticker, etc.

True, True....shared PC's here at work with 22" LCD's are getting burn-in where we're constantly monitoring something 24/7
