BURKE COUNTY, NC
—- A woman was arrested this afternoon after she was accused of poisoning two of her boyfriends, according to police.
Tara Jackson, 22, was brought to the Burke County Jail on Thursday and her bond was set to $25,000.
She has been charged with two felonies after she told police she put crushed Soma muscle relaxers into a baked potato and a soft drink and gave them to her two boyfriends.
The investigation started when Jackson called deputies and told them someone was poisoning one of her boyfriends by mixing antifreeze with his iced tea. The boyfriend was hospitalized and has been on a ventilator for three weeks.
Investigators said they suspect Jackson in the antifreeze poisoning, but she hasn’t been charged in that case. They said during the investigation, she admitted to using the muscle relaxers.
"A love triangle gone bad,” said Detective Scott Carico, Burke County Sheriff’s Office. “See two male victims in a love triangle. Victim one didn't know about victim two. Her live-in boyfriend didn't know what was going on."source
