Crazysah Posted August 31, 2012 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Hello, So, I need a new phone. Here is what I want in the phone: 1. Unlocked (so can be used anywhere in the world) 2. 4G 3. Price not to go over $700 4. No iOS or Blackberry. Android and Windows Phone are a go. 5. Need to use the phone on prepaid. Bring on the suggestions. Also, by the above 5, I assume, I will only be able to use it on T-Mobile right? I'm in NYC right now. Also, by a phone now or should I wait a week? maximum I can wait is a week. tsupersonic Posted September 2, 2012 Share Posted September 2, 2012 Hmm that doesn't make any sense. If the phone has the correct bands, I don't see why it couldn't use 4G from T-Mobile. Cause college has started and I need a phone. Also, I was told that for prepaid and 4G, I can't use the Galaxy SIII as it uses a micro-sim and not a regular sim. It just looks stupid and foolish when you correct someone and you're wrong yourself, so I wanted to make sure that I wasn't being stupid and foolish, and asked for a source on your newly-presented fact. The name change to "W8P" is news to me, considering everyone apart from one person on your linked podcast, who also refers to WP7 devices as "Windows 7 phones", is still calling it Windows Phone 8, including Microsoft (link). I'll just keep calling it WP8 until I'm shown an official source (i.e. not TWiT.tv) by someone who doesn't mind resorting to primary school antics. Back on topic though... You can just cut a regular sim to micro-sim size and then use an adapter when you want the larger size. I personally wouldn't buy any WP7 devices right now as they have no upgrade path to WP8, which is just around the corner.
