Update: I previously incorrectly mentioned the deal is available on an upgrade to the Note 2. It is available on an upgrade to the original Note, or the Galaxy S III.

Here?s a not-so-bad deal for all our UK based readers who are planning to upgrade to either the Samsung Galaxy S III or the Note 2: if you trade in your old device, Sammy will throw in a Galaxy Tab 2, worth GPB 299 (or $475 based on the current exchange rate). Unfortunately, as with all these deals, some gloss is removed on reading the terms and conditions. The deal is offered to only those with either the Galaxy S II or the iPhone 4 or 4S, while the rest will have to cough up some additional dough to get the Tab 2.

If you were to ask me, I?d suggest selling your device on Craigslist or something, and picking up the GBP 159 Google Nexus 7 instead. I?m pretty certain you?d be left with some additional cash.

I am just going through the process and going to trade in my old iPhone 4 for a Tab 2 7".

I don't really like selling stuff as you never get what you want for it, so i feel better trading it in for something that i could use.

Edit: I am going to wait and see what the "additional fee" is for the 10.1" version.

So if I traded in my 10-month-old iPhone 4S 16GB (which I'd get around ?300-?350 for on eBay) for a:

• Galaxy S III 16GB (currently ?445) or:
  
• Galaxy Note 16GB (?380)
  

...I'd get a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (?300) included?

I must be reading it wrong somehow, because that sounds too good to be true...?

Would I just swap the 4S directly for an S III from Samsung, or would I have to pay the difference? If so, the deal isn't worth it.

EDIT: Ah, I'd have to buy a Galaxy S III (currently ?445) then I'd trade in my iPhone 4S with Samsung and they'd send me a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Wi-Fi. I'll leave it and stick with selling my 4S and putting a little extra money towards getting the sixth-generation iPhone.
