I got my Zotac GT 440 about 2 months ago, for my Linux rig running Ubuntu 12.04.

ZOTAC GeForce GT 440 [ZT-40702-10L]

It ran all good and pretty, but the problem is with dual screens.

It hast the following:

1 x DVI
1 x HDMI
1 x DP

I tried DVI + HDMI, DVI + DP, HDMI + DP, nothing seems to work. It's like it only supports one output. All connections work OK with one monitor.

Do I need to get a GT 440 that comes with 2 x DVI?

As this: Newegg.com - ZOTAC ZT-40708-10L GeForce GT 440 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

I don't think this is OS dependant. Doesn't even show both screens on Post.

As limited as Ubuntu is, yes. BIOS won't have anything to do with your GFX, Its not onboard.

Well, make sure you're using Nvidia binary blobs and not the Noveau open source driver. You should be able to configure the dual monitor setup using Nvidia X Server Settings.

Did you install the official nVidia drivers? Last time I did an Ubuntu install, it comes with third party drivers.

See: https://help.ubuntu....verHowto/Nvidia

Oh, derp derp. I was looking in the display settings, not in the NVIDIA X Server.

Since we're on the same note, why do i see a big glob of grey for my right desktop?

Had to take a pic with my cam. Couldn't get a screenshot of my second monitor. Top 2 monitors are for linux rig.

I also find it odd that I can't drag and window onto it, yet I can mouse over it..

I think I got this, too. Had to enable Xinerama, never knew what it was, until I read it on Wikipedia..
