+Fahim S. MVC Posted September 9, 2012 MVC Share Posted September 9, 2012 I figured I'd look Joe up on Twitter and ask him myself, the response was: Javascript is not enabled or refresh the page to view. Click here to view the Tweet I personally think Microsoft could ask a little more persuasively... On another note, does anyone know how SD cards will appear in the OS? Will they just make the internal storage look bigger?
Josh_LosAltosHills
when and if windowsphone 8 sells enough phones then maybe they will listen. but for right now everyone should be happy with the SD option.
George P Global Moderator Posted September 9, 2012 Global Moderator Share Posted September 9, 2012 SD cards will just be added to the pool from the way it looks. A users shouldn't have to pick between internal and external storage to find files, they'll all show up in the librarys. I figure after you add the SD card and boot the device it'll do a quick index of it, at the most you might have some sort of indication of where the files are stored (some small icon next to files or something) otherwise you'll probably no know unless you've filled up the SD card before hand. On that note, when you connect the phone to your PC you do get access to the SD card and it will act as a mass storage device from what I heard. But having said that I don't think you get access to the internal storage in the same way. Also the SD card is for user content and not apps, apps can't install to it or use it as a write target. They only have read-only access to the SD card.
subcld
i wish Nokia give users a choice between 32G and 64G internal storage on 920 so the moaning about MicroSD stops
Brody McKee
Good work on taking the initiative to get those hard-to-find answers... if only the answer was "every device will have a microSD slot".
