Windows 8 start screen customisation - tiles

Anyone else hate the multi-coloured tiles on the start screen? Anyone else wish they could be more unified, like windows phone? It wouldn't be difficult, so why is the option not available? Any ideas?

I mostly dislike the garishness. Although I am finding ways to reduce that (I don't really use the start screen for anything productive):

I think I prefer them being different colours now (I'm not too sure), and I actually wish Windows Phone 8 would follow Windows 8 in that regard. If the tile colours for built-in apps in Windows Phone really aren't the same as the tile colours for those apps in Windows 8 (e.g. Messaging, People, Xbox Music), which is what we've seen from the pictures released of the Windows Phone 8 Start screen so far, I will be severely disappointed.

If you hate multi-coloured tiles you'll hate mine. I'd love to colour my tiles so that they all match. Oh well, I spend 5 seconds at most looking at my start screen each time so it doesn't bother me enough to care too much.
