S00N3R FR3AK
So the release date everyone had pretty much assumed with prices a bit higher then I was hoping for. $299 for basic has everything plus a HDMI cord 8GB of memory. White color $349 Basic plus a stand for the controller, Wii U, Nintendo Land, 32GB of memory and online premium which is a rewards type program where you get 10% back as points to put towards more DLC. Black color Only launch day games confirmed are NSMBU and Nintendo Land. The launch window runs from Nov 18th all the way till March with 50 games coming out in that time frame. Here is the list from Gameinformer. This launch window just seems way to long and for all the crap they got for the 3DS launch titles I really hope some good stuff gets announced for Nov 18th like ZombiU and Lego City. The only surprise from all of this was that Bayonetta 2 will be a WiiU exclusive being published by Nintendo, not shocking was that Activisions games all looked terrible except for CoD. The Nintendo TVii just looks nice to bring all the streaming programs into one setting.
nominak
I'd say CoD will be launch title or close to launch since it comes out around the same time. I know as soon as I can afford it i'm gonna get the $349 version.
DirtyLarry Veteran Posted September 13, 2012 Veteran Share Posted September 13, 2012 Right now, I am the lone vote at not sure yet, as I am just not sure yet. I want it, but know so many good games are coming out for the consoles i already own at that time, plus for the PC, and considering I barely have the time to play those, not sure how I could fit in playing the WiiU on top of everything else. So I think I am going to hold off and wait until the spring/summer of 2013, when things die down a bit, and maybe by then I can find someone who purchased it at launch looking to get rid of it, or perhaps there will be a price drop if it does not sell like they expect it to. threetonesun
Hah! November release? You'll either be waiting in line for hours, or paying $500 on Ebay for these.
~Johnny
Probably going to get ZombiU Premium bundle with the included Pro Controller over here in the UK, as long as it's around ?250, otherwise I'll just hit up the standard Premium version. Too many games to choose through to pick up though, will probably check out NSMBU (even though I despise the blandness of the New Super Mario Bros. games) and something else - undecided as of yet. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted September 13, 2012 Subscriber² Share Posted September 13, 2012 Nope, financial tightness over the next 6 months is obviously my main factor, but I also am more than happy with the release schedule for my ps3 for the foreseeable future. Lots of great current gen releases still to come.
migo
I won't buy one at launch. I might buy one late 2013 or some time in 2014 after a couple price drops though. KSib 1 Share
Lingwo
Pre-ordered already. It was the kind of price i was expecting in the UK anyway. Although i was hoping for a ?250 set price for one version. I'll go with the premium one just cause of the charger and stuff. By the time you get that kind of stuff. It won't be far off the ?300 (a guess). I don't know what games to get. Rayman Legends will be one but i might a couple more.

I think it is going to be somewhat embarrassing for Nintendo when current gen consoles are releasing games that look better than anything on the Wii U and Ninty are still offering New Super Mario Bros. U and the like. Nintendo knows how to milk the same franchises over-and-over again.

Who's going to release games that look better than anything on the Wii U? Since it's more powerful than PS3/Xbox 360(not by much), I'd say that's impossible. migo
It'll be highly unlikely for games to not look as good as the 360 on the Wii U, as the architecture is similar. Devs who spent years learning the ins and outs of the 360 already know how to get extra performance out of the Wii U, which is probably equivalent to a year or two's experience working with the system. sava700
sold my old wii when I dropped netflix streaming from them going up on it....just wasn't worth it when I have computers that I'd rather game on. Much better to game on a PC than a console no matter how you try to twist it.
migo
I disagree. It costs less to buy a console than to buy a PC that has specs that doesn't require you to close everything out before launching a game.
