SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) ?

With a revved-up chainsaw in hand, an Auburn man chased his roommate through a home, police said.

Marvin Daniels, 63, is now held at the Placer County Jail on charges including brandishing a weapon, making criminal threats and violating his probation, according to a news release from the Auburn Police Department.

Just before 12:15 a.m. Thursday, officers were sent to the area of Gold and Virginia streets after learning of a man threatening someone with a chainsaw, police said.

Daniels chased his roommate down a hallway to a bedroom, then went outside the home, removed a screen from the victim's window and held the saw inside, the release says.

The roommate escaped to call 911 from a neighbor's house.
