Money which they do not have right now. I say, if the problem is money indeed, then why don't they work together with the Russians Soviets and the other allies and each pitch in with some cash and make it happen instead of being so damn greedy and not seeking monetary help just because we want to be the first to get there again? Because they are two seperate nations that have not realized that we are really all one species who need to work together. Second of all: Why can't you just post an opinion like a normal human being instead of being such an a.....hole about it and ranting like a little kid who's favorite TV hero has just been killed? Grow up. I don't believe we spent billions on a 38 story tall rocket just to orbit the Earth, but there is one thing that is puzzling me though. How did the camera on the surface of the Moon zoomed back and followed the Lunar lander when it blasted off from the surface of the Moon? Nobody was on the surface recording and motion detection technology was not available back then. So anybody cares to explain that? The camera was set back far enough to give a wide field of view. The time lag from Houston was only just over one second (1.3 seconds) so it was not difficult for Mission Control to coordinate timing to tilt the camera as the Lander took of. Watch some of the Moon landing doubter videos, then you may understand. ;) The camera was remote controlled. Nothing was faked. Soviet could see it happen. If it was all faked then Soviet would've tried it instead or would've yelled "FAKE!". The USSR could have been easily mislead -- all they could receive were audio and video signals, which could have been transmitted from a satellite. And there have been satellites orbiting the Moon. No. And if the conspiracy theorists were to remove their heads from the sand and study a few facts, then maybe they would keep quiet. A lot of the alleged fake photographs were taken by conspiracy theorists in an attempt to strengthen their arguments. There is one piece of evidence that proves the landings were genuine and so far not one conspiracy theorist has ever given an answer to this one, in fact the question gets ignored on every conspiracy site that I have ever posted it on. Jodrell bank fire a laser at the moon every day and, by calculating the time it takes for the laser to return, they can calculate the precise distance between the Earth and the Moon. This laser is reflected back to Earth by a mirror on the lunar surface. This mirror was put there by apollo astronauts. There is no other conceivable way for this mirror to have been placed there. Mars is our next goal, we have no reason to go to the moon, it would just waste time and resources that could be spent on a mars mission. In the future when we plan longer space stays, a moon mission+base might be useful for potential water/hydrogen/fuel.But as it is today, it's like going down the west bound dead end street to get to the and of the east bound street.
