Tweetdeck and Retweets

Hi, I was hoping for some help in getting Tweetdeck to stop showing retweets for people that I have turned them off for in Twitter itself. To be clear, I know how to turn off retweets in/on Twitter but they still show up in/on Tweetdeck. I know this is a common problem because I Googled extensively and found many having the same issues. However, in all of my searches I could find no definitive answers about to get it to stop.

I appreciate the information and for trying to help but I have already extensively poured over any information Twitter provides for using Tweetdeck or anything easily found by a Google search. Unless there is a way to do this by using the Global filter? Doubt it but....

The only way I can see this happening is by modifying the API, which is what I was hoping to get help with. Anyone? Again tyvm.
