Gigabyte release UEFI BIOS update for some older boards

Recommended Posts

So I was browsing the Gigabyte website the other day for updates drivers for my motherboard, and I spotted the UEFI BIOS update. According to the Gigabyte forum, this firmware update is available for a good number of Z68 & Z77 boards that don't currently have UEFI. I flashed my board from F6 AWARD BIOS to UEFI with the aid of a boot disk (you can't use @BIOS or Q-Flash because the new BIOS firmware is AMI Bios, not AWARD) and my boot time is down from 45s to the desktop to 25s to the desktop. Also the UEFI BIOS supports touch, and has support for Ivy bridge chips on what were SandyBridge only boards.

Yeah I built a couple of computers last week (Z68X-UD3-B3 and Z68X-UD3H-B3) and both had UEFI updates available. And holy ****, these things go from power button to desktop in 9 SECONDS!! :woot:
