Photos in Facebook Messenger not working in iOS6

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if it is an iOS 6 problem or not. I'm fairly certain that there use to be a camera icon that I could tap on to bring up a menu to take a photo or select a photo for messages in Facebook Messenger. That seems to be missing now, and I think it correlates with iOS 6.

From the actual facebook app, I can create photo messages, but not from the Facebook Messenger app. Maybe I should just use the facebook app...idk, I really like Facebook Messenger to be a separate non-bloated app.

Anyone else notice this? Am I missing a setting somewhere to turn on this feature or is it missing from the app? Is it a compatibility bug with iOS 6?

Thanks.

yeah I think this was changed when they updated the facebook app for iOS a few weeks ago. Its all incorporated into the facebook app itself, including messenger.

Apparently other folks are complaining about the same thing in the reviews of Facebook Messenger. Can anyone who still has iOS 5 installed check to see if they can still send photos in the app?

The problem with the Facebook app still is the inconsistency of push notifications. Facebook Messenger is solid and still much faster than the full Facebook app. Facebook has not announced that they are abandoning the Facebook Messenger app. Further, the Facebook app has had the messaging feature since before the update (it has always had messaging capabilities). Still, they released the Facebook Messenger app as a stand alone.

I hope that what you are saying is incorrect and that they work out this bug they have in iOS 6.
