George P Global Moderator Posted September 22, 2012 Global Moderator Share Posted September 22, 2012 I believe the proximity sensor will kick in when you throw it in your purse and turn it off, or at least lock the screen. It should be the same with putting it in your pocket etc.
coth
I think that's too sensitive... Not very purse friendly tho.... :( It's still highly important feature for Russia, Canada, Scandinavia. Northern USA, Northern China and Northern Japan. Places where you can't use your phone on street for several months in a year. Try to do something with your phone at -10C. Or even just answer a call at -20C. You will damn everything in this world. Glassed Silver and Calum 2 Share
myxomatosis
Too sensitive = crappy. You must find the best compromise...

ShMaunder
I think this is the best smart phone feature announced this year. I still use resistive digitizers because I can use my finger nail which is far more accurate than having to use your finger. Though if its too sensitive then is it possible it could go wrong easily? George P Global Moderator Posted September 22, 2012 Global Moderator Share Posted September 22, 2012 It's a setting you can, from what I remember, actually turn off or scale down. If it's too sensitive for your needs then you change it. At least that's what I remember hearing at the time of Nokias event back on the 5th. remixedcat and Glassed Silver 2 Share

Detection
Key doesn't work on the SIII, not going to be great for stylus either then unless it's twice as thick EDIT - Key doesn't work on my TF101 either, but similar sized point on my keyring does work, so I think the key must be coated with something non conductive
watchthisspace
I didn't realize how big the 920 is before now with it next to the S3 :/ Still can't wait to try it out in store!
