That's right, folks! You can start downloading Windows Server 2012 for free with your basic (verified) DreamSpark account. The good thing about it is that you can pretty much use it as a full version of Windows 8 (with some extra server additions) for free . Although there are some differences, you can also check out a guide on how to use WinServer 2008 as a Win7 replacement here.

I can't wait to install VS 2012 on it and start making Metro apps!

I've been waiting a looong time for this, my little green friend

My studies are ending this October and, I suppose, Dreamspark Premium will go with it. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to snatch Server 2012. Right onto it now, though.
