I usually come across the problem where I need to resize images for websites, or for other uses.

I hate having to load up Photoshop (yeah it only takes a couple seconds, but still) for such a simple edit.

The only other image editors i have on my pc are MS Pain, Windows Photo Gallery, Picasa.

I never touch Paint, or Gallery, and often use Picasa for my personal pictures, but i don't want to use it for simple photo edits because it'll add the image to my photo library, which i don't want.

I actually just used Photo Gallery for the first time, by right clicking on the image, and clicking edit, which did work, But still required me to launch an entire editor to do the small edit.

What I wanted was something that would allow me to right click on the image in explorer, and just click resize, and guess what? FOUND SOMETHING! ha

It's called Image Resizer (creative name right?), and its free from the Microsoft codeplex.

It also seems to have the ability to do batch resizes as well! which is great.

Best of all, its LIGHTWEIGHT.
and saves alot of time.

About

Image Resizer for Windows is a utility that lets you resize one or more selected image files directly from Windows Explorer by right-clicking. I created it so that modern Windows users could regain the joy they left behind with Microsoft's Image Resizer Powertoy for Windows XP.

Looks cool. Can you make it that you can resize the long side to 1000 or 800 in custom? Some images are not standard size.

it lets you define the sizes, or use percentages.

A bit slow startup in Windows 7 64bit, where as in 32bit it works fine. Other than that it does what its supposed to do
