The best Firefox add-on is Adblock Plus.

For general browsing, I agree, but the article is about productivity addons, not general browsing addons.

The best Firefox add-on is Adblock Plus.

With NoScript coming a close second.

I'll take a look at your recommendations OP, thanks. I have to admit, it is easy getting distracted when you have things to do :(

Adblock is definitely productive on many websites. Some pages takes eons to load. This due to crappy 3rd party ad services which are slow as hell.

When I click a website I want it to open as quick as possible, read and get out.

Adblock Plus is a great extension. I have it installed. But whitelised Neowin ofcourse ;)

Another extension that I like is Ghostery. I hate tracking scripts and this little addon prevents them from loading

To each their own definition of productivity. And that's what makes Firefox great (well, in fact, it's the only thing left).

For me, while working on a single monitor cross-referencing stuff:

Tile Tabs - https://addons.mozil...ddon/tile-tabs/

Also, for links links opened in new tabs to inherit history. A bit unreliable at times, but not much of an issue.

Tab History Redux - https://addons.mozil...-history-redux/

And to avoid digging history. Also a bit unreliable, especially together with the previous one, but can be forgiven mostly.

Undo Close Tab Replacement - https://addons.mozil...ab-replacement/

Things like ABP, Flashblock, HTTPS and Ghostery should go without saying.
