Please advise for which model of these mini laptop to buy (value for price)

Recommended Posts

The local market here in Egypt has the following models, but I can not make up my mind for which one is the best value for the price.

Please if you may help me that would be awesome.

1.00 USD = 6.09481 EGP

Asus, Samsung, and Toshiba's is where my bias tends to swing. Never had major issues with their products. I don't really trust HP's anymore. From what I heard they are better than they were in the past, but in the past, HP's were absolute trash.

EDIT: Looking at the prices alone, I wouldn't get the Toshiba or the SAMSUNG NC215-A01EG Netbook. Overpriced to the comparable models.

whhy?

from my xp HP and Lenovo have better build quality, especially compared to Samsung and Acer. and again from my xp, are more reliable.

It has an HDMI out.. that would be my reason :p

i didnt look at the stats, just brought up the hp and lenovo and saw the prices of those 2 alone, didnt bother looking @ the others because of my above reason

So its a win win. The other stats seem the same or the differences are even worth caring about for a netbook. Cheaper netbook with a nice extra feature. The HP is right up there with the other two I commented as being overpriced though.

I have a lenovo ideapad s10-3t (similar to the one you mentioned). It's a great little device but one thing you need to keep in mind, to run Windows 8 you need a screen resolution of 768 vertical. The lenevo only has 600 vertical. There is a registry hack for to make it appear that it has a better resolution than it really has (http://www.jessebandersen.com/2012/02/lenovo-ideapad-s10-3t-increase-dpi-and.html) It works and I'm running Windows 8 fine on it. Not sure if the S110 allows the same hack however so maybe something to mull over.

One thing important for portable devices is the battery life, and then judging from the price and features, it seems the Acer and Lenovo are better choices. What's the difference between the Acer Balloon and non-Balloon version? It seems they are identical except the balloon version is more expensive?

However in general I'd still advise away from Netbooks.
