game_over Posted September 27, 2012 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Strange problem,i've installed BRAND NEW Wireless PCI-E cards in 11 BRAND NEW HP pc's. Not a single one of them will install the device. It is listed in device manager as 'Network controller' . I've tried installing the drivers, it says it cannot find them I've tried doing it through the utility I've tried forcing the driver to install by selecting it manually but it says the device cannot start. I've downloaded drivers off their website Nothing works, there are 2 lights on the device, they don't even come on, i've tried everything. They have released drivers for 7 x64 so i know i am using right drivers. giantpotato Posted September 27, 2012 Share Posted September 27, 2012 I know in HP laptops, they have a whitelist of valid wifi cards burned into the BIOS, and unless you get a model on the whitelist, the PC will not boot. game_over Posted October 4, 2012 Author Share Posted October 4, 2012 Yes, tried all the above.. i contacted the manufacturer and they said "This card was discontinued before Windows 7 was released, it is not compatible" So i said " then please explain to me why you have Windows 7 Drivers on the CD and your website and why it's listed on the microsoft website as compatible? They replied: "Please try the drivers from our website" :blink: Absolutely useless i've now got 11 machines that cant be used.. i've spoken to our supplier about returning them but they want to send an engineer out first. Brand and model of Hewlett-Packard PC? ? Brand and model of wireless PCIe adapter? Also, have the Windows 7 x64 install on the Hewlett-Packard PCs been fully updated with all patches and hotfixes, both from Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard? game_over Posted October 4, 2012 Author Share Posted October 4, 2012 HP Pro Slimline 3300 ZyXEL G-302 v3 (PCI-E) Windows 7 x64, pc's are new and have not been updated as such as not been able to connect them to the internet. Drivers for Win 7 x64 are available on both ZyXEL website and CD, it also says compatible on Microsoft website, ZyXEL say it's not compatible even though they have drivers.. driver search simply cannot find it, and if i force it to install it says 'device cannot start' it does this on all cards and all pcs, i don't have another PC available to test at the moment as all of our newer PCI-E systems are the same model. ZyXEL just replied to an email and said it's an "IOP Issue" whatever that is? They want remote access to the machine. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
