Asrokhel
I use a third-party disk defragmenter, can I disable MS' Disk Defragmenter?
Hum
^ Just disable the Scheduler Right click on C:\, Properties, Tools tab, Defragment, then turn off Schedule. goretsky 1 Share

Aethec
You can, but if you disable the scheduled task disabling the service is useless. It's in Manual startup anyway, which means it's not started unless something invokes it. The general rule with Windows services is that if you have to wonder whether it can be disabled, it shouldn't. Hum
You could. I just leave mine set to Manual. Defrag is not going to ever Run, unless you manually Start it. goretsky 1 Share
