NIXEUS VUE WQHD 27"

Recommended Posts

Anyone have this monitor? I'm curious how it holds up for gaming.

My next monitor is going to be a 27" with 2560x1440 resolution and this one came up

in my search.

I'm sure that it's a decent display IF you can get one that isn't completely f'ed up. The makers of those cheap 27" displays don't exactly have good quality control.

Never heard of them but Comp-U-Plus started taking preorders for them, so that's a nice thing to see

It might help that a semi reputable online store is selling them, price is a bit steeper, but getting some sort of a warranty and easier replacement is a good thing

I see that you're located in Dallas, TX. MicroCenter has a location there and sells a WQHD 27" LCD for $400. I believe they let you open them up and check them out before buying them.

These have DL-DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA. I think the HDMI port is 1.4 to allow for full resolution but I'm not sure as Microcenter site says you need DisplayPort or DL-DVI.

If you're willing to gamble and if Dual-Link DVI is enough for you (basically if you're only going to use it on a desktop), you can get a Korean one on eBay for $290 a couple months ago. I took the gamble and got one with zero dead pixels and very very minimal uneven backlight that's only noticeable when the screen is very dark. If you want to use this on a laptop then these aren't worth it because the laptop needs either DisplayPort and a $100 DisplayPort to dual-link DVI adapter or HDMI 1.4 and an HDMI 1.4 to dual-link DVI adapter which I do not believe exists.

The warranty is also very iffy on the Korean ones but the MicroCenter one has 1 year warranty at MicroCenter. It also seems that Nixeus is using the same chassis as the MicroCenter one which probably means they're made in the same place and are probably the same panel.

I bought a 30" Dell U3011 last year for $1000. If these cheap ones were avilable then I probably would have bought 3-4 of them instead of the Dell.
