Today the background of my personal site quit showing. Which i thought was odd because i hadn't changed anything on my site.
But i still reviewed my code and graphics, and everything was there, still working, and all okay, so nothing made sense.

As you can see here, the background of the main body is just black. It's suppose to have borders.

Does the background show for you? http://www.joshx.com ?

So i assume it was a cloudfare, or one of these cache plugins doing it, because even when i changed the CSS background color it wouldn't reflect on the live site.

So i went ahead and disabled the w3 cache plugin, removed everythign from my htaccess file, and set the nameservers on my domain back to directly to my host hoping that it'll resolve this problem.

Does this sound like something going screwy with cloudflare?
the background still doesn't show for me, BUT the DNS in my area might not be updated yet.

I did check using hidemyass earlier and it showed my site with the background.

Also i don't think its a cache problem because all browsers Chrome, Firefox, Ie are showing the site without the background.

Does anyone have any ideas? Sound like Cloudflare?
I hate the idea of removing cloudfare and the cache plugins, but they seem to cause too many problems then good, but they emproved my page score by double digits :D
thanks

purge cache in cloudflare and your browser....close browser, then re-open, then try it.... that should work.

all systems go here:

I have lots of knowledge about website building and I can tell you that for your personal website cloudfare and server caching is far from what you need, get a decent host and you'll be fine.

See how easy that was? On topic, nothing else.

I thought about changing hosts, but meh, my friend gives me free hosting through his company, and as i said before, i dont care all that much.

So you're suggesting that the host itself is causing this background image to randomly stop loading for me?

I don't know, if you would give us more details about how your website background is loaded/stored it would help us help you. As an excuse for being a jerk I'm ready to offer you free storage on my server if you want. Cloudfare just looks like a useless service just begging for money.

Yeah i hit the purge cache, but not the dev mode.

I just did it all again, but didn't fix it.

Weird.

Maybe tomorrow it'll randomly fix itself.

and you tried from a different browser right? try internet explorer... I know you may not wanna do dat... but sometimes yah gotta do what yah gotta do... and sometimes... stranger then the "hold your wii for a wii" lady.... going to IE on a site you make, then it loads fine, then load it in Chrome or Firefox or whatever and presto! it's all good in da hood!

also let cloudflare support know bout this too!! ;-)
