Velcro will do the job just fine. That is what I use instead of paying the cost and shipping for a converter.

Not Sata 3. But it's still fine.

SOmeone mentioned 3gb/s, which is Sata 2 speeds.

Just saw that you have an Asus M5A97. So yeah it support Sata 3

Yeah, they were saying that the 2.5->3.5 converter kits could drop the speeds down that low.
