i'm a bit annoyed of some of the trolls on this forum. Someone a while back gave me instructions on how to completely block people on these forums. I have since lost the instructions, and was wondering if anyone else knew how to properly and completely block topics, posts etc from certain people.

Currently i only know of the block PM feature.

thanks

Top Right Menu below your user name: Manage Ignore Pref, add the user, select signatures, post and message then click save changes

Be easier if they just added the ignore option to the hover menu when you hover a persons name to the left.

It would be nice if we could block the posts from vocal mods too.

sorry icant see your post now :p
kidding.

the bad thing about this is it still tells you that they posted, it only minimizes it. i guess its better than nothing at all :p but im always tempted to maximize their post to see what they said lol.

Im going to work on my self control skills :D

I think they keep the post there just in case it seems like someones talking to himself.

I have two, one of which has replied to this thread, pretty close to making it three as of late

But you guys still have the urge to view their posts sometimes right?

At first i couldn't resist, but now i do find just ignoring them. Much better than me saying something back and getting banned lol.

No, not anymore ...
After 8 years there, I realized that some people's idiocy were beyond reach of salvation and that it was a pointless waste of my time to try to discuss with them.

Hey, we're people too! :p

No seriously, if you have a problem with something a moderator has said then you should report it. As moderators we are not above the rules of Neowin - indeed, some could argue we have higher standards to follow due to representing Neowin in a "working" capacity - and should be held responsible for our words and actions just the same as everyone else.

I'm always available via a PM if you want to discuss something that has happened. Unless it's something that I specifically did, in which case I'm right and you're wrong and nothing will change that. :p
I'm joking on that last bit, of course...

EDIT: And I notice that only one person so far has tried to name someone specifically. Let's avoid names, shall we? :)

Not in the least. I did a few at first and got mad all over again, so I learned quickly not to give in to temptation.
