Well it's now Wed Oct 31. My Microsoft surface pre order for the it to arrive on Oct 26 is still not here? ( I live in Canada). So this leaves me to believe that the letter Microsoft sent out was not a mistake, they new this would happen. Yes they gave me $50 bucks, who cares, I wanted my surface on the 26th. So I guess they are to busy giving free ones away, that they are not to worried about shipping there paids ones out for the arrival date they promised. My first pre order ever, now it will be my last, thanks Microsoft.

Out of interest, why does seven days make such a huge difference? I can understand that you went for the pre-order with the assumption that you would be using the device right now, but does 7 days really make all the difference? You're still going to be playing with one sooner than I am. :)

That's unfortunate. I received mine in the UK at the end of the day yesterday and the courier told my partner that they were flat out delivering them but wouldn't be able to get them all out by the promised delivery date. Apparently MS underestimated demand and UPS (the courier originally contracted to handle the deliveries in the UK) wasn't able to handle the increased number of orders so Fedex were brought in at the last minute to try and get all the orders out to customers. Apparently they were working through the night to get the orders out. Assuming that the situation is similar in Canada, hopefully you will receive yours today.

The delays made a difference to me because it's a hassle to wait around for a delivery without knowing when it will arrive. I was originally told that it would come last Friday so my partner ended up taking it in turns to wait at home for the courier. If you miss the delivery it can be a real pain to organise a re-delivery when you have to deal with a courier.

Well 7 days would of been for learning curve for me, so i can get ahead of the game in teaching others on how to use it. Also the same comments as jakem1, and if I don't wait around it goes to the fedx or ups stores which are 1 hours drive from here.

Has anyone from Canada actually received their Surface(s) yet?

I called yesterday and the guy was just making excuses.

UPDATE: Just checked got a shipping confirmation so mine is finally on the way. Maybe calling them helps. FYI I ordered mine on Oct. 23.
