Galaxy S3 and Universal Media Streamer- How can I make it work?

I just got the Galaxy S3. I'm coming from a first generation Andriod phone that couldn't even get up to version 2.0.

I'm wondering how I can make the S3 connected, via wifi, to my PC Universal Media Streamer, so I can watch my 1080p movies and such.

It seems that the media player detects UMS, but when I click on it, it either says " Data Connectioned Failed" or it will open and say, " No Files Found".

I'm very uneducated as how to go about such things with the phone, so a very simple step by step would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried AllShare? The app comes with the phone and will do what you want it to do

NVM it will only connect easily to a PC, anything else seems way more complex than necessary

Samsung used to have an app that did it easily, but forget the name

It's evolved to be a Universal DLNA compliant media streamer.

Most samsung software will have an app pre-loaded that work with DLNA streaming.

Just downloaded after your recommendation... it found the server, and has been on "Retrieving Media Items" for about 2 minutes.... does it normally take a while if I have like 500gb if movies?

I tried allshare. It worked as far as seeing my PC and showing some files, but most would not play, and it wouldn't show the movies I had on other drives, just my main C drive. I could get it to go to another drive, but only under the "file" option, which wouldn't allow me to play any movies.

Let me try this, as I do have PMS also on my PC.

Ok, PMS and Skifta work.... as far as showing me now the movie files.... BUT

All my movies are .x264 format (if I'm correct in that term) and it says that it is not supported. Anything I can do about this?
