That works fine and has done for a while, I am specifically talking about using the playto function.

I use it with the Xbox Video App and I never had any issues with it.
Switch on your Xbox go to Devices, add new, Windows 8 detects it.
Then go to the Video App, select the video, Play To your xbox
Done. Starts playing.

I used it directly from explorer the other day, just right click and play to, select xbox, and voila.

ok odd thing, its simply working now! best use is direct from windows explorer - I can basically send anything to the xbox, brilliant! :)

Movies do stutter though, looks like buffering (but when played through the video app there is no buffering). Anyway I'm happier :)

Try playing with buffering settings in WMP, it might affect explorer playback.
