After the LG Nexus 4 leaked earlier today in what was reportedly a press shot of the smartphone, UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has now listed the device for pre-orders on its website. The shipping details on the site mention an October 30 release date if you pre-order the device right now.

The site has the same image as seen earlier in a picture posted by Twitter user @evleaks. The specifications for the device seem to be in tandem with earlier rumoured leaks, except for one small error. While the 'Overview' tab on the site mentions that the device runs on Android 4.2, the 'Specifications' section under the 'Features' tab says Android v4.1 Jelly Bean.

The pre-order page looks quite official with complete specs listed for the smartphone. The display is said to measure 4.7 inches diagonally with a 1280 x 768 resolution. Other features include a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, NFC and an 8-megapixel camera.

Going further into the detailed specs sheet, the Nexus 4 is listed as being 9.1mm thick and is offered with 8GB of on-board storage and no microSD expansion slot. Vodafone and O2 are the carriers listed by the retailer and also mentions various deals including for free on contracts of ?31 per month or more.

The Verge managed to get what looks like an inventory screenshot, possibly of Carphone Warehouse showing the LG Nexus 4 being listed for Black and White versions at a price of GBP 389.95.

Google is expected to unveil the LG Nexus 4 at its forthcoming Android event in New York on October 29. A 10-inch Nexus tablet from Samsung and a 3G Nexus 7 are also likely to be announced.

LG Nexus 4 key specs

  • 4.7-inch 1280?768 True-HD IPS screen
  • Android Jelly Bean (version to be confirmed)
  • Quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 8MP camera
  • NFC
  • No microSD slot
  • 8GB internal storage

I quite like the idea of this the CPU and ram are good but the 8gb storage with no SD clot puts me right off it

Yeah, honestly this isn't that great considering phones like the Butterfly J with 1080p screens are just around the corner, but it seems like the Nexus line has been a little less cutting edge for the last few refreshes. Definitely seems like a solid phone, but 8 GB is ridiculously low. Even my One XL has 16 GB, and I think that's about my sweet spot. 32 would be nice though. I'm really surprised this phone made it this far with just 8 GB. I was sure they would upgrade that to 16 GB before naming it a Nexus, but I guess not! I'm wondering if that means there's going to be a stronger focus on cloud in 4.2.

Apparently CPW are using the bogus pictures from what I have read. That phone is using a AOKP rom on there, so not sure how reliable this is.

This is purely what I have read from other people and pictures of the screen from an xda forum from July.

i dont really think they'd release an 8GB device (maybe they will but not as the only flavor to choose).. prob a 16Gb will be released as well - google can't be that stupid and i dont think they are. the device looks amazing! too bad i wont get a fair price in brazil :/ i guess i'll upgrade my nexus s to a galaxy nexus (5MP is ok for me and 1GB ram is enough for me as well)

I hope 8GB isn't the only SKU they manufacture, if they did a 16 or 32 GB version it would be more appealing. The phone's spec is excellent it's ugly as hell however.

No expandable storage and only 8gb internal? What a piece of ****. They better come out with bigger versions or this is going to fail BIG. I am looking forward to seeing what Sony has in store. Dont think anything has been confirmed as of yet.
