Any way to get movie rips to show up under movies in Video app?

Recommended Posts

Pretty much as above. can it be done? I have loads of movies & tv shows on my computer but they just show up under other.

If you can figure out a way to stuff the WMC media type Guids into the tags for the files it will recognize them. I have yet to find a way to get them into an M4V/MP4. :/

1. Install Zune client

2. Select all videos and edit category to "Movies"

3. There is no third step

The video app is slow to propagate the update though, be patient.

Dunno if I was clear about what I meant.

Tried all these but it still didn't work.

My video files do show up in the all videos section, just as thumbnails though.

Thought there might me a way to get them to show up as movies and have poster art/backdrop to show up like it used to in media center.

Would you at least READ his post, seriously.

His movies show up and are playable, he simply want them viewable under movies instead of other, it's a library display issues, and has to do with simple tagging.

Uh...MKVs...don't know about that. Yes, I marked some of my home movies (m2ts) as "Movies" and they started showing under the Movies section. Is MKV even playable using the video app? :o That's news to me!

I understand and I did read it. I am interested in knowing if he actually got MKVs to play, then it is just a sorting issue. Also, he didn't mention anywhere that his MKV, in this case inception, actually played at all.
