The A&E hit show Storage Wars is at war with its star Dave Hester as claims that the show is fake have alarmed network execs, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively.

The showdown between the network and its reality star may result in Hester departing Storage Wars very soon
, a source tells Radar. Taping for the new season of the show has started even though the cast's financial deals are not finalized.

"Dave was sent an option for the new season and then it was rescinded," the source claims. "It’s turned into a big mess and some people on the show are convinced it is all going to end up in court."

Hester is famous for his signature "Yuuuup" bid and is the breakout star of the show. But now he’s both alarmed and upset about the show’s actions.

"He was not involved in the first few days of filming even though the rest of cast was," said a source. "He thinks he may be fired."

One big issue: accusations that the show’s bidding is rigged and that items are put in some lockers to be "discovered" and add to the drama of the episode.

Part of the show’s formula is cast members taking interesting items to be appraised.

"People close to the show talk about allegations the show is fake a lot and word has gotten back to the execs," the source said.

One source claims Hester is worried he will be a target because of the complaints. And with his contract not done for the new season, he’s worried the network is singling him out.

Storage Wars has been a ratings winner for years, as the show features four professional buyers bidding on abandoned storage lockers. "But the network is more focused on some of its other hits right now," a source told Radar.

"The cast is getting squeezed financially on some issues that are related to the show and the show has not resolved, even with taping beginning."

When asked about Hester’s status and the charges of the show being faked, A&E told Radar: "We have no comment."

This show is obviously fake. Who would keep such expensive items in a storage locker. everybody knows you keep the things you don't mind losing there. The show is like omg look a locker full of old beer cans. Whats this ? a gold brick hidden at the bottom of one of the trash cans. yeah that real.

His arrogance/ego is definitely not rigged. I think Wikipedia needs to add a picture of him to their douche/douche-bag entry. :pinch:

lots of rich people do stuff like that, heck Paris Hilton had one with a lot of stuff in it that was expensive she lost a few years ago, it made national news at the time

and I don't recall them ever having a show where it was littearly a locker full of trash then some ultra expensive item in it...

There was a recent one that literally had garbage in it with a head from india made from some kind of gemstone. If I remember correctly the old guy got nocked in the head by all the garbage.

could also of been a scam by the original owner... we had issues around here with storage lockers people knew they where going to owe money and couldn't pay it so they stuffed the locker full of trash before hand to get someone they knew to "low bid it" so they could get away with taking the locker back and get essentially free storage for a bit (they fill it with trash to start with, not when they knew they are due, they could of just taken the stuff out at that point and ran if the owner didn't change the locks yet)

But to be honest a lot of the valuable things in the show don't look really valuable. You know they are valuable because they tell you they are. More often than other they really look like old junks people inherited and probably don't care about.

It reminds me a couple of years ago when i decided to sale all my old University stuff i did not use anymore. I almost gave everything but before giving away my HP calculator with reverse polish notation (model 42s2 i think paid 80$ back in the days) i decided to take a look at what they were going on eBay. To my surprise the calculator was going for 500$ US on ebay. I finally sold it 480$ on ebay. 6 times more than what i paid for.

So now you know that a discontinued HP calculator with reverse polish notation worth a lot of money (if you have the boxe, manual and everything in mint condition). But you know it because i told you so. Because for the normal eyes it really only looks like a normal calculator ;)

Most of the stuff in the show is like this. Like that Original Alwa skateboard from 70ies. For 99.99% of the people out there it's just a skateboard. But once the show told you what it is then you know it worth something.

I don't say it's not staged cause it really looks like it is. But i'm not the one to pretend i know an ugly purple vase worth something lol
