But to be honest a lot of the valuable things in the show don't look really valuable. You know they are valuable because they tell you they are. More often than other they really look like old junks people inherited and probably don't care about.

It reminds me a couple of years ago when i decided to sale all my old University stuff i did not use anymore. I almost gave everything but before giving away my HP calculator with reverse polish notation (paid 80$ back in the days) i decided to take a look at what they were going on eBay. To my surprise the calculator was going for 500$ US on ebay. I finally sold it 480$ on ebay. 6 times more than what i paid for.

thats one of the things I never got by the show, something I'd think is worth money they are like junk trask old junk furniture... then they pick the most obscuse thing and are like omg this is a $5,000 piece! while I am thinking yeah but that Mahogany bedframe there would cost me $10,000 in a furniture store..... and you said it was junk

Well i can tell you selling wooden bed frame or table is really hard. "fake" wood looks really good these days and is inexpensive. Unless you sell real wood the same price as fake wood you'll have hard time selling it.

But my dad has some really old beer bottles displayed in his cottage. I'm sure those worth some money and are easier to sell than a bed frame ;)

Everyone on the show is a piece of crap, they all pull shady **** on each other. Now Dave may be the biggest ding-dong, (my vote is for Mark - the guy with the man purse) but Dave was the draw - the guy everybody loves(d) to hate.

I love they way the talk about the stuff they find, the value they place on them is pretty funny and exaggerated, to make the show more "interesting". I'm sure there are items planted, but I didn't and still don't care, I mean none of the money goes to me, so if they over value anything it doesn't cost me. It also makes me think MY garage full of **** like they buy, makes me a very rich man... :)

Eh, not really. What surprised me was the way bidding was done. They do a real bidding, then the fake bidding that they tape. The fake bidding they raise the price for, to make it that much more dramatic. I really didn't pay much attention to it. It drew in this huge crowd, but due to the show, it didn't bring in the money we were hoping for. Now we get these huge crowds for all the other auctions we have, which I'm thankful for, but the show I dislike, greatly. I didn't stick around for the camera shots and didn't want to be on film. Just not my cup of tea.
Everyone comes in expecting it to be like what they see, and instead, realize it's just peoples junk that they didn't want to actually store in eyesight of anyone, and that they normally just lost interest in and let the unit go into lein. But again, the crowds we get are just insane for the size of property. I have an office that holds maybe 20 poeple.... and we get crowds of around 200 every auction now.

I'm guessing that it was the Texas version of the show that filmed at your place. If so, is Moe's nose bigger in person? lol

Actually, everyone seemed smaller... maybe it's due to me watching the show before on a huge tv though :p Everyone on TV always seems so much bigger, then when I meet them, they are shorter than me normally lol.
