[Hum]

An audacious fox ‘mugged’ a mother of two as she was on her way home from a supermarket, making off with her bag of groceries.

Louisa Power, 46, said the bushy-tailed bandit appeared on the footpath in front of her and refused to budge when she walked past in Sidcup, south-east London.

She added: ‘The fox sniffed my grocery bag and started walking after me. I used my handbag to try and shoo it away, but as I looked round it was on my heel snarling at me.

‘I ran away and it jumped up and grabbed the food bag out of my hand running off with all my food.’

Bexley Council said it offers advice on dealing with foxes and ‘would be happy to receive further information in relation to this incident’.
