Hey, I have a DP to DVI adapter (I think it is active) by Bytecc (I think) from Newegg. After the outer plastic casing of the DP end broke off, I tried to remove it, see what was the matter with it. So I gently pull it, and it comes off, but I get bare wires, the end plug still wedged in there.



There any hope in fixing this, or am I pretty much SOL?

128 day warranty, I got mine maybe 6 months ago. Just basically get a new one?

Eugh, Bytecc. For an adapter worth $12, it's a bit of a stretch to attempt fixing it.

If you were considering a replacement, try this instead. Less bulky plus better warranty.

Monoprice, forgot about that place. I buy all my cables there, never thought to look there for DP adapters. Hmm.

Fixing it? Don't bother, I would not trust that connectors quality now, not to mention its potentially hazardous. Get a new one, times aren't that bad...

Yeah I'd definitely buy a new one. Wouldn't want to take a chance on having a short and frying your computer.
