It's creme filled sponge cake. Have you ever even seen a Twinkie?

Seen. Tasted. Spat out again.

It's not cream, or créme, and if definitely isn't sponge cake.

It's like that other horror they try to sell as food, fake cheese

Stuff like that should be banned... It's why people are getting so fat!

Figures that a guy who thinks curfews for minors are an intolerable affront to freedom would turn around and call for foods to be banned.

Curfews are for criminals, not kids. And yes, foods that are killing you SHOULD be banned!

I just can't comprehend people who have this mindset. How about you do your thinking for yourself and not require a government to make sweeping bans for something that's perfect fine in moderation? This is exactly the kind of government intervention that is NOT needed in the world. Why should I be punished because the guy in your avatar can't stop stuffing his face with junk food? You know, too much fatty meat and you'll have a heart attack. Same with dairy products, very fatty, so those should be banned too by your logic. There are actually a number of vitamins that can kill you if taken in excess, so we better ban vitamins too. Oh, and don't forget that if you drink too much water you could die from water intoxication, so we better ban water too. We better just ban everything but lettuce for people. Oh no... I just looked it up and too much lettuce can be bad for people with gallbladder problems! Maybe the government should ban everything but feeding tubes with perfectly calculated streams of nutrients customized for your body. I know I sound ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as thinking the government is responsible for your eating habits.

Enriched wheat flour, sugar, corn syrup, niacin, water, high fructose corn syrup, vegetable and/or animal shortening – containing one or more of partially hydrogenated soybean, cottonseed and canola oil, and beef fat, dextrose, whole eggs, modified corn starch, cellulose gum, whey, leavenings (sodium acid pyrophosphate, baking soda, monocalcium phosphate), salt, cornstarch, corn flour, corn syrup, solids, mono and diglycerides, soy lecithin, polysorbate 60, dextrin, calcium caseinate, sodium stearoyl lactylate, wheat gluten, calcium sulphate, natural and artificial flavors, caramel color, yellow #5, red #40.

Huh...looks like a normal sponge cake to me.

Flour, Sugar, Water, Shortening, Vegetable Oil, Eggs, Starch, Leavening, Salt.

The other stuff is mostly for the filling...so yup it's a sponge cake with a non-dairy creme filling.

BTW, it looks like McKee (folks who handle Lil Debbie snack stuff) are taking over Twinkie. Keep an eye out for an AP release if it hasn't happened yet.

Not sure where you're getting your sponge cakes from but they don't normally consist of 40 different ingredients...

I've never had one but they don't look great and don't sound very good for you from those ingredients, then again I prefer my sponge cakes without beef fat.

Anyone see the outrageous prices boxes of Twinkies are going for on eBay right now?

Yeah, I figured most of the products would be sold to another company to take over production. If nothing else, it would help them pay for the bankruptcy.

Read my post next time. I called out which ingredients are used for making the cake portion of it.

The rest of the stuff is what is in the non-dairy creme filling.

I love when people don't bother to read my actual post and then make a post about it. ;)

Oh I read your post I just don't see why your detailing the ingredients used in the sponge vs the filling.

wow all that crap in the "cream filling" i was thinking about trying these things out, from cybercandy the price alone is enough to put any one off
but having seen the ingredients i think il leave well alone.

Because of FloatingFatMan stating that it wasn't a sponge cake...which you also tried to do.

I give up on trying to make my point though since it seems people today are intent on not actually paying attention to what I am saying. :p

I think they are liquidating before they hit another bankruptcy, but I may have read that information wrong.

I hope some more companies take over the production of the products and leave them just as they are. I have a serious addiction to the raspberry filled powdered donuts. I haven't had them in a while though due to stores around here not carrying them. :(

I need to find a few that do and stock up just in case.

This is a sponge cake, a Twinkie looks like a chemical mess. Hmm that caramel colouring and red #40 sound delicious.
