I think he understands that leaders are suppose to be servants, and not kings.Not many leaders understand that any more.

Our American leaders should try this.... See how they do for a while. Maybe they'll govern a little better if they have to live meagerly and are essentially susceptible to the same problems of the average poor and middle class americans.

Not sure of the practicalities of it but if he feels it keeps him in touch with his duties and country then good on him, I was personally more impressed to read his donates 90% of his salary. Best of luck to him :)

True. Leaders and elites are quite similar in the luxury they get.
