Maybe a GTX 650-660? Anything higher than that is kinda a waste as a 670 or higher is overkill for a 1024x786.

Yeah, the 650 or 7770 series would be a nice card for those resolutions. No point in drawing more power and spending more money.

I was talking about my CPU :)

But lets get back on topic of the GPU :)

So am I.

The CPU can and will be the bottleneck if you play on high res.

Actually it is the reverse.

You are normally more limited by CPU at low res & GPU at higher res.

Your monitor's native resolution is 1024x768?

You really need an upgrade...

SO BACK ON TOPIC.....

The GTX 660 sounds like a good card. The 650 I believe uses pregen technology.

Pregen: The 660 uses a newer GK106 while the 650 uses a older GK107 (both based on Kepler though). I might have read/understood it correctly/reverse, if so sorry.

Ah, I understand what you mean now. The correct term is "last generation/gen." :)

Pregen; Before the current gen. Progen; After the current gen.

At the price, the GTX 650 Ti sounds good. Unless its performance is really far from the 660

Grow up and listen to what I am saying. No one credible, including those in the industry, say "pregen". The massively used/preferred term is "last gen".

Someone please back me up, this 15" CRT guy is winding me up.

1024x768? did I just woke up in the year 2000? Get a monitor instead... Black Friday is coming up! I'm sure you can get one pretty cheap!

..... :/ Theres no need to get emotional about it.....

Topic at hand, is the GTX 660 vs the GTX 650 Ti price difference really worth it? If it is, then OK. If not, then Im not really interested in spending that much.

On a modern Intel Architecture, the price difference is probably worth it. Given your CPU (Core2 Duo@2.13GHz) and resolution (1024x768), the answer is no.

Indeed, which was part of my point earlier. :)

At 1024x768 he is more likely to run into a CPU bottleneck before a GPU bottleneck, which is something he should look into.
