Questions for the Wii U owners

Recommended Posts

I got a question for anyone who has this system. Does it do anything to help the existing Wii games look better? Reason I asked is because part of why I stopped playing my wii is because the games look so horrid on a 55 inch LED. If the new system upscales then I could finally finish alot of stuff. Also my next question is a network related question. Do you know if the system does WPA2 Enterprise? This question is related to my job so I needed to know if we need to create documentation on this for our network. I work for a university so students are always bringing in their gadgets and such.

I don't have one, but I can pass along what I've read on other forums.

It does upscale (something your TV would have done for you if it hadn't) but that really only gets you modest improvements. That's not to be confused with up-ressing, which the Wii-U does not do. The games will remain in the their original resolution, just with some of the rough edges smoothed over.

What folks do say however is that because it's using an HDMI cable instead the component/composite of the Wii (which I'm told is of poor quality to begin with) apparently colors are more vibrant and that overall it *is* a more enjoyable experience to play on the Wii-U vs the Wii.

On the connection type, I can't help, sorry!

does not support WPA2 Enterprise...tried Sunday at my job...

doesn't surprise me as most home users don't use WPA2 Enterprise to start with  Not sure how many average users know stuff about certs and RADIUS servers

No it doesn't, Wii U has a 'Wii Mode' that boots into an emulated Wii Sandbox so it only ever outputs at 480p max, it does upscale the image which makes it look a bit better.

....well then I see no point in getting it....

I've got a weird idea, how about, um.........playing Wii U games?

If you want to play uprezzed games play them on Dolphin emulator with Wiimote and nunchuck.

The only Wii U game of any interest is Mario, and Mario is not worth the cost of an overpriced half gen console.

and when Microsoft and Sony's next consoles aren't much of an upgrade are you going to be bitching and whining this much also?

at least Nintendo tries to do new things on their consoles... MS and Sony always seem to be playing catch-up with ideas Nintendo took the risk on first

If the Next Xbox isn't any more powerful than the WiiU then you bet I'll complain.

and what does new things have to do with anything ? and I'd rather have it done best than first anyway.
