I'm a registered Repub and haven't attended church (minus baptisms/funerals) in decades. Any other sweeping generalizations you want to make?

How is it wrong? Nixon bought in the Southern Strategy and Reagan heralded in the emergence of the religious right as one of the most influential factions of the Republican Party. Sorry but you've aligned yourself with the Republicans and the onus is on you to either change the party into something sane or man up and accept that the entity as a whole represents you. You call it a 'sweeping generalisation' I call it facing reality based on the demographics of the grass roots of the Republican Party. If those of us have to accept the pot smoking bongo drumping hippies then you shoud equally front up and accept the religious nut cases.

Why are you a Republican?
*shrugs* Because I'm not a Democrat? That's really the best reason I have, I haven't voted in a few election cycles and politics ranks as high to me as watching ice skating on TV. I loathe politics and the ugliness it brings out in people (both sides of the aisle). It's not often I whip out the "I'm a registered Repub" card mostly because it tends to bring out the crazies when I do. But enough of off-topic discussion from me.

Oh dear god, you're a Republican but don't know why - let me guess because your father was one and your fathers father was one etc. etc.? Jesus Christ, doesn't anyone read any more - have the basic grasp of mainstream conservative thought ranging from Ayn Rand at one extreme through to William F. Buckley, Jr. at the other? I mean, if you're going to call yourself a Republican then at least have some sort of philosophical grounding as to why you've staked out that claim other than the herd mentality of going with the flow or what ever the status quo is in your area.

The front page is all I really have time for, I don't spend enough time there digging through subs hunting for "well thought out posts" on any subject. I know they are there but, the overall tone and quality of Reddit has declined greatly as the age of the majority of their users sinks into the younger age brackets. While, I probably glossed over the quality of Reddit, you do the same ignoring the fact that the "lowest common denominator" is taking over a once good site. Guess we'll just have to disagree on the quality of Reddit.

I could say the very same thing about this website and the number of morons who keep posting the same dump questions about their computer; over clocking their computer up the ying-yang but can't work out why it is BSOD'ing every five minutes or running a beta level driver and whining that their game isn't as fast as the more stable drivers.

As for the rest, don't really care, Politics is a nasty **** hole that needs to be flushed and flushed more often. Neither side has any high moral ground to stand on, and they seem to conveniently forget what they are there to do.

No one is trying to claim one is better than the other given that I think that both have their flaws but when 'ozzy76' can't even construct some sort of argument as to his underlying philosophy which leans in that direction I have to ask whether his choice is done in absence of thinking.

Blah blah blah blue red blah blah. Hardly relevant to the story,

I'll assume she just hates gay men and that's the jist of her argument?

Though is anyone really surprised to see another hypocritical lawyer?
