Murasame
Thinking about ordering this case but I worry about things like someone spilling water onto it. Not likely, but it happens. The water would run straight into the case, on the motherboard and everything else. A sealed top would have a little more time before the water reaches anything major don't you think? Any thoughts? Noir Angel
I own one (Kandalf LCS), been fine for the last 5 years.
Max Norris
Have a couple of a similar design with large cooling fans/grills on the top, has never been an issue. But I don't use my hardware as an end-table either. The units aren't on the floor so it's extremely unlikely something like that would happen regardless, if they were on the floor I'd probably be a bit more concerned though. tsupersonic
I'm personally a fan of this design, where you can place a fan(s) on the top. This allows for hot air to escape the case from the top. The simplest solution is put the case on top of your desk, and that would minimize accidents. Or just strategically place it where it's less accident prone.
threetonesun
I have that exact case... not really an issue. And I put water glasses on the top of mine.
Crisp
Nearly all modern designed cases come with fan air holes in the top. Your shouldn't have water anywhere near your electrical stuff in the first place  remixedcat 1 Share

remixedcat
This is the one I got and it's not a problem since it sits on the floor under my L desk and all I set on top of it's my phone for charging or my RoG headset. Love how the PSU sits on the bottom so it's not top heavy and the fans got filters on them as well.
Hum
My XP machine is a slotted top, and I let the side open for cooling. I just never set any liquids on top. My cats have ocassionaly jumped on top, but I shoo them off.
Murasame
Thanks for all the replies. I ended up keeping my current case for now because I decided to wait until I build a brand new machine. This way I can save time by not having to move anything from the old case to new. But I will buy one with open fan grills on the top since spilled liquids shouldn't be a problem.
