Speaking to me like a child doesn't change reality. But you're welcome to keep trying.

Reality is tens of millions of people in the U.S don't go out and shoot people every day. Prove me wrong..

Tens of millions of people in the U.S. don't go around raping small children every day, prove it's not a problem?

Are there tens of millions of child rapists? The ratio of gun owners to murders is not enough to warrant a ban and besides the point, how can you blame all gun crime on legal ownership? There are at-least 3 ways off the top of my head that would still make it easy to get a gun if there was a total ban. If you argue for more requirements to get a gun to keep them out of mentally unstable peoples hands, how do you know that they wont just get one illegally?

Here's the thing, I'm not interested in getting into a debate with you and your circular arguments. Been there, done that. You and I have gone at it multiple times and it's obvious neither of us is budging even the slightest. So you can justify yourself and anything that has to do with guns, to someone else. I don't buy a cent of your BS.

I don't buy your B.S either, the world isn't a warm and cosy place, you can live in your fish bowl and pretend it is if you wish but I for one won't be so naive as you and others like you.

In fairness he won't be playing loud music again.

Kind of off topic, but wtf is up with Nigel Thornberry invading your signature?

I don't live in a fishbowl. I live in reality. Where guns are not necessary for civilians. I don't live in fear of my government or neighbors. Even if for one second I was "naive" as you put it, I'd rather be naive and die happy in my life, than paranoid like you who believes everyone is out to get them, but not before you shoot them first!

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said no guns or drugs were found in the teens' SUV.

Shooter is going to jail, maybe even the death penalty. No excuse for his behavior.

Now THIS Restores my faith in humanity! I HATE HATE HATE!, ****ing teens that play that loud music out of their car all hours of the night.

Erm.. keep in mind, this kid was blasting his music at a gas station.. not at the guy's house. At most this would warrant a noise complaint and the police would get involved, no need to shoot a man. If you honestly think the shooter's behavior was justified, I suggest you get checked out.

6 out of 14 comments in this thread are implying that it's perfectly OK to shoot someone if they play loud music. What is wrong with you? :/

They must have bad sarcasm or are trolling at best.

The comments in this thread are a testament to why I have such intense distrust of gun advocates. Killing someone for being a little bit annoying is absolutely insane :/ and it's horrifying to see so many people that have no respect for the value of a human life.

Seems to me some people around here care more about life only at conception

I have always wanted to create an emp device that would disable the stereo and the cell phone that is always so prevalently attached to the ear...

Heh too bad an EMP would wipe out everything else with a microchip within its blast radius. What you would want is a linear amplifier of some sort, but the FCC would find out and fine you if you did

I don't believe that there are people out to get me, I don't keep my head on a swivel, People like this guy are out there and me having something that might even the odds is better than some harsh words. You live in a fishbowl you think that nothing can happen to you, no one needs to defend themselves because everything is ok, when things like this happen you rush out and blame every gun owner and stick up your nose because you're not one of those people that need a gun or one of those people thate are paranoid, nope can't happen to you. Believe it or not some people live in reality and know that bad people exsist and know that something such as that evil gun you hate could possibly save their life, nothing is guaranteed but having something is better than having nothing. As the saying goes, god made man Samuel Colt made them equal, a 100 pound woman can even the odds against a 200 pound rapist..

Believe me, I'm pro-gun myself, but the problem is this gun culture we have feeds the paranoia of others. If the evidence cited in the article is 100% true, there's no reason this irresponsible gun owner should have had a gun in the first place if he was impulsive enough to shoot a person for playing loud music. His life wasn't in danger, there is simply no excuse. Put this man in the electric chair for all I care, it's idiots like this that make us responsible gun owners look bad.

What a completely idiotic statement. His radio was loud and he was shot for it. You're implying that by playing loud music, you're inviting gun slinging psycho's to come kill you. So retarded.

Just an FYI, you can't justify a moron shooting someone over loud music. So please, stop trying. Of course, the gun advocates will just say "He was mentally unstable and should have never been allowed to carry a gun!" Give me a freakin' break. Humans cannot be trusted with guns. Plain and simple. Pro-gun folks are just as bad if not worse than religious nuts. When something bad happens "Ohhhh. God works in mysterious ways!" or in this case "He was mentally unstable and shouldn't have had a gun! We're not all like this!"

Newsflash, this guy has probably said the same thing multiple times, you know...before he shot someone. Because their music was too loud....yeah.

Wow, man. Way to insult me. May I refer you to the forum policy?

You completely ignored my entire post prior to that. Either way, I'm not going to get into with you. You clearly have some emotional issue with this to fly off the handle like that. I already said it was wrong, but this is the world we live in (if he had a knife instead of a gun, I bet it would turn out the same). It's not paranoia; just knowing there are unstable people out there, and provoking people, as what clearly happened here, can trigger that. I only implied discretion in these situations, instead of provocation.

Either way, if I continue in this thread any longer with this argument, it will just get out of hand and not add anything useful.

Absolutely, what he did was totally wrong and should suffer the full extent of the justice system.

So we're blaming the victim now? (At least, that's what I think you're insinuating, correct me if I'm wrong)

I can draw an analogy between your argument and the notion that somehow someone who was raped was "asking for it" because he or she dressed provocatively

Never once have I said "It can't happen to me". Contrary to what you obviously believe, I am not naive. I understand that there are things that I can't control. A gun doesn't change that. I don't need to wave a gun around to feel safe. It's as simple as that. If I'm ever in a situation where a gun could have saved my life, I'm sure you'll relish in the "I told you so". And for the record, "people like this guy" are out there bipping off about how guns are necessary and he's a responsible gun owner, just like you.

Wow, man. Way to insult me. May I refer you to the forum policy?

Everything you said before your last line was negated by your last line. "He shouldn't have done it" or "This guy went overboard" was instantly thrown out the window with "Well he's only a victim cause he made himself a victim". Load of crap.
