SoCalRox
I'm curious. Is it known (NOT speculated) if the Surface Pro SSD can be upgraded by the end user? Or is it permanently installed or of a unique connector?
Astra.Xtreme
I'm almost certain that the SSD is soldered/integrated into the mobo and isn't upgradable. The microSD slot is all you get. SoCalRox 1 Share
jordanspringer
I am guessing it is not upgradable. The Surface RT wasn't. It takes quite a bit of effort to open up the device, and the 32GB storage is just chips soldered to the motherboard... it isn't even in a 'hard drive' form factor. Here's some info: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Microsoft+Surface+Teardown/11275/2 SoCalRox 1 Share
SoCalRox
Thanks. RT wasn't an option because I need Java to run terminal emulation. Not convinced, just researching getting a new laptop device. Many thanks, especially for the link to ifixit. I just never seem to think of that site until I get poked in the ribs. :)
