Title says it all. I bought today a Logitech Z313 2.1 speaker system and I was wondering if there is any way to connect my old speakers to create a 4.1 system. I tried the microphone port but obviously it didn't work, duh.

So, any suggestions? Should I buy a plug or something? Thanks!

Do you have a sound card that supports more then 2 speakers and a subwoofer ( 5.1 sound card or higher ), if you do then you might be able to hook them up to your sound card with an adapter and use them if the speakers are powered. If the speakers are not powered you would need to get a pre-amp ( if the sound card cannot drive them ) and then plug the speaker output from your sound card into your pre-amp over an adapter which would then power your speakers if the speaker connecters on your old speakers don't plug directly in.

Thanks for the help! Guess I should buy a sound card then. Not bad, since it was in my plans, because my brother gave me his synthesizer. Thanks again!
