I like that it's 2-door and the interior is interesting, but it still looks basically the same as every other beamer for the past couple decades. Not really an exciting brand for the most part.

Love it. The wheels suit the body perfectly. Pity most of the ones that are sold will be 420ds.

I don't think Neowin members realise you can spec different colour interiors...

I really really dislike BMWs... but I'd have one of these in an instant (if you can drop the wood style interior).

Wow.. this is the first BMW that is making me rethink the Audi S5. If they made this one with the black piano accents instead of wood and it will look absolutely sick.

When are these coming out.. I was thinking of getting a new S5 in a month or so but I might just keep my current Audi A5 and drive it for another 2 years or so and get this one when it comes out.

general thinking is Sep 2013 if you're lucky...

and yes you can almost certainly get it in piano black trim, the current F30 you can at least!

First ones won't be in until February.

Kinda liking the throwback interior myself. I really don't get the model number change though. It just seems confusing to put the coupes/verts in a new 'even' scheme.

Well, it's supposed to reflect how the saloon and the coupe variants are no longer the exact same car with a new body, so I can understand why they've done it.

For me though, the worst bit of the number change is that most M3s are coupes. They will now all be M4s and the M3 name will effectively die away. They should have opted to keep the 3-series as the coupe and make the 4 for saloons.

I completely agree that saloons should have been the 2/4's. M4 just sounds stupid, not that they haven't been slapping the M badge around enough as it is.
