The tattooed inmate was trying to break out of a prison in Ceres, near Goiania, when he became jammed.
Moments earlier, a smaller convict had jumped through a hole smashed through the side of the prison wall before his overweight partner in crime attempted to follow.
The bald convict was left reeling in agony after becoming trapped as prisoners inside the jail attempted to push him to freedom.
‘He has a very large physique and is also very tall,’ said Lieutenant Tiago Costa, of the local fire brigade.
‘The other prisoners tried to push him but he stayed stuck in the wall. He started screaming in pain, and that was when the prison guards were alerted.’
Prison officers at the scene were clearly amused by the stocky jailbird’s plight before firemen eventually came to his aid and cut him free.
Overcrowding in prisons remains a serious problem in the South American country, while reports of riots and attempted escapes are also of regular occurrence.
