Death Becomes Her is to be adapted for television.

The 1992 film - which starred Bruce Willis, Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn - was a dark fantasy comedy in which two women attain eternal youth.

Cable network Bravo is now developing a small-screen version, with the movie's director Robert Zemeckis on board as executive producer, reports Variety.

Upon original release, Death Becomes Her received mixed reviews, but was a box office success, grossing $149 million globally. The film subsequently developed a cult following on home media.

Other movies being adapted for US television this season include A Knight's Tale at ABC and Fargo at FX.

The fact that they waited 20 years is most likely going to doom this series. IMHO.

It was okay, I guess. Nothing I'd rush out to see.

Best thing about the movie was the actors, who were good in their roles. Its hard to say the TV series will be good without them.
