HP Pavilion 23-B010: Specs HERE
Windows 6, 64-bit

This computer came with Windows 8 pre-installed. It's now fully updated. I've now had 3 BSODs in the past 4 hours. All saying to search for SYSTEM_SERVICE_ERROR or SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION after system restart.

Any idea what may be the cause here?

How was it acting before the update?

1 BSOD before updates, 2 since. Overall, she's pretty quick, smooth and responsive. There just seems to be no rhyme or reason when they happen.

Hardware issue more then likely, did you buy it locally? If so I'd get it swapped out

Could be faulty hardware, and the update may have made it worse.

have you installed any desktop application or hardware drivers?

If its brand new out of the box and you got a BSOD I would return it.

Brand new, purchased today. I did install the ATI Catylist Driver for Win 8 64 bit earlier. The past hour or so, I've had no issues. After my last post, another update was available. Genereic description on how it will "fix issues with Windows". Anyway, I have the receipt and 30 days to return it to Office Depot. I'll see how it goes.
