Deadline reports that Singer will executive produce and possibly direct a remake of The Twilight Zone for CBS Studios. The original series, from Rod Serling, aired on CBS from 1959-1964 and was subsequently followed by a remake that ran from 1985-1989. Singer is currently look for a writer to pen the new series, and the show has not yet been pitched to networks. Deadline notes that CBS is an obvious destination for the series, though, as CBS Studios only produces broadcast series for CBS and the CW.

Wasn't there a reboot recently with Forest Whitaker?

EDIT: Woah, there was...10 freaking years ago! Time flies...

I bet it won't be as good as the original.

Considering, IMHO, the original is the best TV show ever produced, I think that is beyond a safe bet.

And I am dead serious, it is my favorite Television show ever made. Absolutely brilliant in all regards.

Not only was it entertaining, but most of the better episodes always had a moral lesson embedded in it as well. Don't be greedy, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, look beneath the surface and do not accept things for face value, what appears to be good can in fact be evil. The list goes on and on.

I will watch this strictly from a curiosity standpoint, however I am vehemently opposed to the idea itself.
