Running Ubuntu 12.10 x64, Cinnamon

I sometimes see this. Garbled text on the task bar, some letters aren't there. It normally fixes itself by me logging out and logging back in. This seems to happen more when I have to reset it (normally kernel upgrade) rather than when I wake it up from sleep mode.

Is something breaking it? Or is this like a shot in the dark? :huh:

You're talking about the text disappearing? Looks like it's a know problem. This is Linux Mint, but they're the people behind Cinnamon so this may be of use to you.
