SIII Battery Drain

Recommended Posts

Battery life on my Samsung Galaxy SIII is less than awesome. I'm curious is this the same for others and if not what the deal is with mine.

I'm running Cyanogen Mod 10 stable.

What I find interesting is the source of my battery death seems to be the screen and it is killing the battery at an insane rate no matter how low I make the brightness. I have even disabled the ambient light sensor.

I have the exact same device as yourself (I9300) and running Cyanogen 10 and I don't have huge battery drain.

I'm running on full brightness as well. Of course, if I browse or watch videos for a while with this brightness level, it drains fairly quickly, but not that bad.

Can you install cpuspy or something similar so that you can make sure nothing else is affecting your battery life.

84 % display doesn't mean it's only the screen that is draining your battery.

(let me figure out what I want to say and add to this picture... but right now, just showing how something is majorly off on yours... and mine is on stock ROM)

Ok, So there is something causing the screen to definitely drain the battery more than ever. You mentioned how you removed the "Auto Tune" from the brightness, and that should help with battery life, as it will save a few cycles and changes of brightness everytime you move a few feet or reposition the phone. I keep my brightness on my phone at max setting just as a gauge for you to go by.

I haven't used the phone much today, just a few phone calls, texting, downloading a new game and extracting/installing it, and playing it for a minute. But it has been off the charger far longer than yours, and is doing much better.

Might be an issue with the ROM itself, or somehow an app the is actually keep the "screen awake" even though it might go dark.

My screen has been on for 39Minutes and 45 Seconds it says as well.
